Our host company based in the Geelong area is one of the leading food manufacturers and suppliers of fresh poultry and prepared food solutions. The successful candidates will be involved in the general maintenance and repair of poultry process machinery. Two shifts are available which are Day Shift and Afternoon Shift

Ai Group Apprentice and Trainee Centre is a Group Training Organisation who employs apprentices and trainees then places them with Host organisations. We provide support for all apprentices and trainees by way of our mentoring program which includes regular visits to your workplace and TAFE.

 Your duties include:

    • Examining and understanding detailed drawings and specifications to determine the requirements for the task
    • Operate and adjust metalworking machines to create parts or tools by turning, boring, milling, shaping, slotting, grinding, or drilling metal stock or components
    • Using hand and machine tools, welding equipment, and CNC machines
    • Cut, thread, bend, and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
    • Ensure accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools, or sub-assemblies
    • Operating lathes, machining centres, sheet metal folders, and benders
    • Wide variety of welding practices including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding

Desirable requirements:

    • Driver’s license and reliable transport
    • Eagerness to learn new skills
    • Positive approach to workplace safety
    • Minimum Year 11 Schooling

 Mandatory requirements:

    • Must be an Australian Citizen or hold the right to work in Australia
