The VU Skills and Jobs Centre offers FREE career, employment and training support services and is open to all members of the community.
Whether you’re a recent graduate, an experienced worker looking for a change, or someone who has been out of the workforce for some time, the VU Skills and Jobs Centre can help you to achieve your individual training and career goals.
Work 1:1 with a qualified career counsellor to understand how your skills, experience, interests and values can inform your decisions about education, training and career paths. Individual career counselling involves exploring options, setting goals, overcoming obstacles and developing strategies to achieve career satisfaction and success.
We offer a range of career development workshops, tailored to individual or group needs. Delivery can be onsite at your location, online or at one of our Skills and Jobs Centres in Sunshine or Footscray.
Our practical resources can support you to explore your career options, provide you with useful templates and up-to-date career development information, and prepare you for your individual career counselling session.
In addition to our Sunshine and Footscray centres, we offer a range of outreach services including pop-up career counselling sessions out in the community, information sessions/workshops at local libraries, career expos and more. With the additional convenience of online/telephone consultations, the Skills & Jobs Centre is well-placed to assist you.
The Victorian Early Leaver Connection Initiative Career Advice Service (VELCI CAS) is funded by the Department of Education to provide career advice and outreach services to school-aged early school leavers to support engagement in post-school education, training and/or employment pathways.
The Apprenticeship Support Program is funded by the Victorian Government to assist apprentices to successfully navigate the apprenticeship system. Our Apprenticeship Support Officer offers free, confidential, support and advice to help apprentices work through challenges in order to successfully complete their apprenticeships.
