Learn the entry-level skills and knowledge necessary to gain employment in the civil construction industry on a range of major civil construction and infrastructure projects.

This course will help prepare you for work across a range of roles in the industry, including labouring, traffic management and plant operations.

Course Overview

You will learn how to:

    • prepare to work safely in the industry
    • provide first aid
    • plan and organise work
    • identify, locate and protect underground services
    • carry out manual excavation
    • communicate in the workplace
    • use hand tools and power tools
    • operate small plants and equipment
    • control traffic with stop-slow bat
    • implement traffic-management plans

Who Is The Course For?

All skill sets under this program include training in Construction Induction (White Card), a mandatory requirement for anyone working in the construction industry.

This course is government subsidised for eligible students.

Admission Requirements

Applicants MUST be referred to this course from a Skills and Jobs Centre or a Jobs Victoria Employment Network or referred from the Asylum Seeker VET Program.

On successful completion of course, students will be issued a Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency(s) within TNABK Skills Uplift in Civil Construction.


Graduates of the Skills Uplift in Civil Construction course will have access to various unique employment opportunities in civil construction, as well as ongoing support from the Skills & Jobs Centre to find suitable employment.
