About this opportunity:
As an Apprentice Chef, you will work under the guidance and supervision of Delaware North’s dedicated Chefs, where you will be assisting in preparing, presenting, and delivering a variety of high-quality premium menus. You will gain extensive experiences within a large high volume commercial kitchen environment while undertaking your training to be a fully qualified Chef.
You will be mentored by our team of highly skilled Chefs and you will learn to operate commercial kitchen equipment, learn different knife skills and an extensive variety of cooking techniques as you complete your culinary qualification and gain experience and exposure with a leading hospitality company.
You will be on a rotating roster, gaining knowledge from well renowned high-profile Chefs across high end premium restaurants, large 5 star event catering businesses, high volume pastry operations, and all areas of a large production kitchen and sports event catering.
The apprenticeship will commence in February 2023.
About You:

- You have a passion for all things food and are willing and eager to learn
- You have a positive attitude and possess excellent communication skills
- You must be available to work a flexible roster including weekends and public holidays depending on business needs
- No experience is necessary, however, previous commercial kitchen experience will be highly regarded
- You are interested in studying Culinary OR you are currently completing your first year

- Paid training with our partner at Victorian University
- 25% above Award wages – Adult apprentice weekly pay $940. Junior apprentice weekly pay $646 (with penalty loading paid for hours worked on weekends and public holidays + superannuation)
- Australian Apprentice Training Support Payment – 4 payments of $1,250 every six months for the first 24 months. Total support payment of $5,000 in addition to your above Award wages
